The Society completed 25 years of social service on 24 August 2018 and held its silver Jubilee Function at Fatehabad (Haryana).

ACTIVITIES

The main aim of Bharti Education and Development Society is to provide basic facilities of Library and reading rooms to the poor and needy students,  and to guide and support them in order to improve their educational standards and career prospects. For this, the Society runs Libraries and Study Centres at various places where the poor and needy students have easy access. It also organizes free tuition classes, free coaching, counselling camps, and various other activities from time to time. The activities of the Society are broadly described below.

Library-cum-Study Centres
  • With a view to providing basic facilities of library and reading rooms, the Society set up its first library-cum-study centre at 65, Chander Lane, Patel Nagar, Hisar in the year 1994. A large number of books covering different subjects/topics such as General Knowledge, History, Political Science, Economics, Geography, Agriculture, Science, Languages, etc. were procured and made available in the library. Dictionaries, encyclopaedia, year books, old question papers, guides for various competitive and entrance examinations, books by and on great persons, were also made available in the library. This Library was shifted to Guru Ravidass Hostel, Sirsa by-pass, Hisar in 2015 in a spacious hall, named Bharti Hall, specially constructed with the donation from the Society for the purpose of Bharti Library. The Society has provided computers and Kindle devices to create E-reading facility at this library.
  • The Society set up its second library-cum-study centre in village Banmandori, district Fatehabad (Haryana) in the year 2005 to cater the needs of the students of the village and nearby rural areas.
  • The Society donated funds and infrastructure to set up Dr Ambedkar Library in a spacious hall at Sant Kabir Hostel, Rajgarh Road, Hisar in the year 2016. This fully equipped library is being run by Sant Kabir Shiksha Samiti, Hisar in collaboration with Bharti Education and Development Society. The Society has also provided computers and Kindle devices to E-reading facility at this Library.
  • The Society donated funds to renovate and update the existing Dr Ambedkar Library at Dr. Ambedkar Hostel, Sector 16-17, Hisar in the year 2017. Th Society also provided computers and Kindle devices to E-reading facility at this Library.
  • The Society has donated funds and infrastructure to set up Dr Ambedkar Library at Guru Ravidas Bhawan in village Bhuthan Kalan, district Fatehabad in 2018.
  • The Society has donated funds and infrastructure to set up Dr Ambedkar Library at Ambedkar Bhawan in village Sarsod district Hisar in 2018.
Free Tuition Classes

The Society has been running free tuition classes at its Library and study centre in village Banmandori, district Fatehabad since 2005.

Free Coaching

The society organizes free coaching for various competitive and entrance examinations for needy and deserving students and candidates preparing for such examinations. The Society also organizes free tuitions to improve the standards of the needy students in English, Mathematics and Science subjects.

Scholarships

Many students studying in various schools face difficulties in purchasing books and other study material due to the financial constraints. To extend its helping hand to such poor and deserving students, the Society gives scholarships to students of certain selected schools. Presently, the Society gives Sohan Lal Godara Scholarship, Mani Ram Savant Scholarship and Raja Ram Gangwa Scholarship to 20 students every year.  

Interest free Education Loans

In order to reduce the burden of parents, the Society in very deserving cases grants interest free educational loans to poor students pursuing professional courses such as M.B.B.S.; B.V.Sc; B. Tech. etc. An undertaking is taken from the student to repay the loan amount in installments after completion of the course when he/she starts earning. Some of such students who took interest free loans from the Society have completed their courses are well placed doctors, engineers  and veterinary surgeons. After getting job the concerned beneficiary repays the loan without interest so that the society can help the other deserving persons.  

General Knowledge Competitions and Quiz Contests   

In order to create awareness and enhance the knowledge of the students, the Society organizes general knowledge competitions for the students of various schools and colleges from time to time. These competitions are conducted under the supervision of university and college professors and lecturers who offer their honorary services to the Society. The students securing meritorious positions are given attractive prizes along with Merit Certificates in the Society functions.

Debates

For improving the speaking skills and articulation of the students, the Society organizes debate competitions on various social and national issues. Senior lecturers and other experts are invited as judges for such competitions. The students who are either members of the Society’s libraries or otherwise associated with the Society are also invited to remain present during the debate competitions. Winners are felicitated and given attractive prizes and merit certificates.

Lectures by eminent persons

The Society invite eminent persons and academicians to deliver lectures to the students on various useful topics. The topics covered in the past include “Education and Development”, “Freedom Struggle of India”, “Indian Political System”, “Career Planning”, and “Constitutional Development in India”.

Vision India Research Centre

With a view to contributing in the field of research and studies to explore constructive and practical solutions to contemporary problems with futuristic approach, the Society established Vision India Research Centre (www.virc.in) in 2016.  The VIRC  provides a platform for eminent personalities, bureaucrats, academicians, professionals, journalists, social activists, students, upcoming intellectuals and enthusiastic men and women of all walks of life to come together, discuss and debate various issues pertaining to social, educational, economic and political development of India.
