The Society completed 25 years of social service on 24 August 2018 and held its silver Jubilee Function at Fatehabad (Haryana).
INTRODUCTION
Bharti Education and Development Society is a charitable organization founded in 1993 and registered with the Registrar of Societies, Delhi, under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 vide Regn. No. S-24698. Dr. Dalbir Bharti, then in the IPS, and a group of like-minded persons including Government officials, Academicians and Social workers formed this Society with the main aim of providing facilities and guidance to the poor and needy students and to help them in achieving desired success in their job and professional plans. The Society believes in the secular principles and fully adheres to the Constitution of India. Its activities are not limited to any religion, caste or region.
The Society has set up Libraries and Study Centres at various places to provide facilities to the poor and needy students. Besides providing books and reading room facilities, the society also arranges free tuition classes for school students and free coaching for various entrance tests and competitive examinations from time to time. It provides financial assistance to poor and intelligent students by giving them scholarships and interest free education loans to deserving students for pursuing technical courses. It also organizes various other activities such as General Knowledge competitions, debates, quiz contests, essay competitions and lectures by eminent persons to enhance the knowledge and educational standards of the students. Many students, who attended the Society’s free coaching classes, took interest free education loans and used its Libraries and Study Centres, have succeeded in becoming doctors and engineers, and getting jobs as Class-1 and Class-2 Officers in the Government and Public sector, and at senior level in Private sector in India and abroad.
With a view to exploring constructive and practicable solutions to contemporary national and social problems with futuristic approach, the Society has established its Vision India Research Centre (www.virc.in). Its activities include research, seminars, debates, surveys and publications on various relevant topics.
The source of income of the Society is the subscription and donations from its members and other persons/organizations. The donations to the Society are exempted from the Income Tax under section 80G (5) (vi) of the Income Tax Act,1961.
